Reveal 4X: a multifaceted approach to eye contour care 

Reveal 4X is not just another eye serum; it’s a scientifically formulated solution crafted with precision. This serum combines a synergistic blend of potent active ingredients with a ZAMAC applicator, targeting the microcirculation, water retention, and pigmentation issues that often affect the eye area. 

The formula is the outcome of meticulous research and development, with carefully selected actives that optimize results and ensure efficacy. The product development process adheres to a strict formulation chart to respect the sensitivity of the delicate eye contour area, prioritizing efficacy without compromise. 

Reveal 4X : 4 key targets and action modes 

1. Dark circles 

Dark circles are pigmentary macules with various contributing factors such as melanin deposition, hyperpigmentation, edema, reduced blood circulation, and disruptions in skin elasticity. 

Understanding the distinct mechanisms behind dark circles is crucial to design an adequate solution. Reveal 4X is specifically formulated with depigmenting, plumping and microcirculation stimulating actives that help to reduce the appearance of three different types of dark circles.

2. Under-eye bags 

Under-eye bags are caused by a relaxation of the orbicularis oculi muscle. The tissue beneath the lower eyelid has various points of weakness, leading to a relaxation and sagging of the skin. Although the fat content in this area is low, it has a sponge-like effect that causes swelling, resulting in an increased under-eye bags volume. 

Under-eye bags manifest through different mechanisms, each requiring a distinct approach. Reveal 4X contains decongesting, draining and lipolytic active ingredients that specifically target and reduce both types of under-eye bags. 

3. Dehydration  

Dehydration in the delicate eye contour area can be attributed to various factors such as environmental stressors, inadequate hydration, and the natural aging process. Exposure to harsh weather conditions, excessive sun exposure, and insufficient water intake can contribute to moisture loss in this delicate area. 

Reveal 4x contains a potent PGA-HA system to combat moisture loss and provides a proven significant long-lasting moisturizing effect. 

4. Fine lines 

Fine lines in the eye contour result from declined collagen and elastin production. External factors such as prolonged sun exposure and facial expressions can also contribute to their development.

To gain a deeper understanding of the development of Reveal 4X, we sat down with Mélanie from the Dermaceutic R&D team. Here are her insights into the product’s development: 

Q1: What led you to develop this formula?

Answer: We observed that despite the wide range of products available on the market, many consumers are still dissatisfied with the results.

By diving deeper into the issues related to the eye contour, we identified a major gap: the hydration of this area is often overlooked, even though it’s a key factor.

Q2: Explain the choice of ingredients and their synergy:

 Answer: We carefully selected ingredients by studying how each one works, focusing on four key actions to target the main eye contour issues.

For instance, the Caffeine Complex combines caffeine with organic silicon to enhance the benefits of caffeine on puffiness while minimizing its potential to increase the visibility of dark circles. 

We also paired hyaluronic acid with polyglutamic acid, which work together to boost hydration and fortify the skin’s structure.

Studies have shown that polyglutamic acid can inhibit the enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid naturally present in the skin, making their combination especially effective.

Q3: Why four actions at once?

Answer: We chose four actions because each one addresses a distinct issue: dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and dehydration. While improving hydration benefits all these concerns, they each have different physiological origins.

It’s uncommon for consumers to experience only one of these issues, so a comprehensive approach is essential to meet their needs.

Q4: Explain the choice of packaging

Answer: We aimed to select packaging that enhances the product’s benefits and offers a pleasant user experience. After numerous tests, we opted for a tip with five zamac massage balls to amplify the cooling effect while gently massaging the sensitive eye area. The on/off system prevents leaks and reduces contamination risks, unlike traditional tubes or jars.
